Vienna, 29 June 2023 – After the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung moved in as the tenant at the end of 2022, the new F.A.Z. headquarters has now been transferred to the owner, HanseMerkur Grundvermögen, which has secured the property for one of its investment vehicles. The final purchase price totalled approximately €198m. The F.A.Z. Tower was developed by UBM Development (75%) together with Paulus Immobiliengruppe (25%).
“The corona pandemic and the Ukraine war influenced the construction phase, but we successfully transferred the building to the owner with only a relatively small delay“, explained Thomas G. Winkler, CEO of UBM Development AG.
Landmark on the Frankfurt skyline
The new headquarters for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung with its 18 floors rises to a height of over 60 metres. The office building consists of two slim disks which turn against their own axis and are pressed together in the form of a double “H”. This project has a great deal to offer from both a commercial and architectonic viewpoint. It represents the entrance, so to speak, to the Europaviertel directly adjoining the Frankfurt Trade Fair. The building is also a landmark for Frankfurt, similar to the adjacent “Timber-Pioneer“, Frankfurt’s first office building in timber-hybrid construction which was also developed by UBM and Paulus.
