Vienna, 8 May 2018 – UBM Development, the leading hotel developer in Europe, is pleased to announce the appointment of Franz Panwinkler, an experienced real estate specialist, as the commercial director of UBM Development Österreich GmbH as of 1 May 2019.
Franz Panwinkler has long-standing experience in the real estate and commercial areas, among others with GEWO Bauträger GmbH. Together with Gerald Beck, he now forms the Management Board of UBM Development Austria. Both are also members of the UBM Executive Committee, a 20-member management body of UBM. Ernst Gasser, who previously served as a managing director in Austria, will resign at the end of May to pursue new challenges outside the Group.
UBM’s core markets are located in Austria, Germany and Poland, The current development pipeline of € 1.8m (up to 2022) includes a volume of over €650m which will be realised in Austria. One of the most important parts of this portfolio is the LeopoldQuartier in Vienna. Another key project is located in the second district only a bridge away from the inner city, where the largest hotel to date with more than 700 rooms and an equal number of apartments with modern and flexible residential models are scheduled for construction.
